It really is every bit an action movie steeped in '80s action movie mayhem that's also — and quite consciously — a feminist deconstruction of those same '80 action movies. It's about strong women and women actually given the chance to be strong outside of tropes and stereotypes. It's the future, so, people have been finding ways to pay tribute to it any way they can.
