How to turn off the useless notification sounds on your Apple Watch

One arguably overlooked feature of the Apple Watch is that it supports not just haptic notifications, but also audible ones — in fact, they're turned on by default. Calls, emails, text messages, and so on will all cause a ping to emanate from your wrist.

Perhaps there's value in this somewhere, particularly since wearing the watch automatically silences the phone that it's attached to. But since it's physically attached to your wrist, you will always feel each notification as it comes in — there's no need to hear it as well. And, notably, there's never a situation where you'd want your phone muted but it's still okay for your watch to beep and bloop unabated.

In reality, I think that the audible notifications are a freebie bonus...
