Writers from Broad City are working on a female-led Jump Street spin-off

Sony's taking its Ghostbusters strategy and running with it: the studio is reportedly working on a new 21 Jump Street spin-off that will feature women in the lead roles. According to a report from The Tracking Board, the studio has signed Broad City writers Lucia Aniello and Paul Downs to work on the script, which is said to be similar "in tone" to the two films from writer-directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller.

The studio generated a tremendous amount of excitement when it announced it was making a new Ghostbusters film with director Paul Feig that would feature a team of ghostbusting women. Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones are cast in that film, and it's clear Sony sees an opportunity here to do something...
